Spilling Some Coffee

This project talks about The obsession of Fair skin in India. It aims at “Being comfortable in your own skin” while living in the surroundings where there are subtle as well as obvious effects of this internalized long-lived obsession of fairness i.e. the notion that fair is beautiful and anything else follows it in the hierarchy. The project goes deeper to talk about the emotional and social impact it makes on people and how factors like social conditioning, the capitalism of fairness products, and ignorant media and Pop culture play an important role in the survival of this obsession over the years. It also talks about the process of being comfortable in your own skin and the different phases of it. The satirical tone is used as a mockery to the existing condition of this obsession where it is subtle in our day-to-day interactions but at the same time too obvious because of the internalized conditioning.
